CARE PACKAGES! This team will seek donations, provide items and assemble care packages for RVA CARITAS where the Chapel Choir will be providing a Worship Outreach Experience for the RVA CARITAS community - a non-profit organization that works to rehabilitate and integrate men and women with addictions and homelessness back into society. The team will collect items, assemble care packages and deliver them to RVA CARITAS at their 2220 Stockton St. location by noon. You are then invited to participate in the cook-out there and attend the Chapel Choir Worship Outreach Experience and encouraged to minister to the CARITAS Community as the Spirit leads you! Color A Smile is a nonprofit organization that distributes cheerful drawings to nursing homes, hospitals, Meals on Wheels programs, our troops overseas, and anyone needing a smile. In this family-friendly event, join us to color as many pages as you would like and know that you will brighten someone's day when they receive it. And hopefully, participating in this Serve Day project will make you smile, too! Jan is always serving all of us, but the past 4 months she has been unable to serve and unable to walk due to a serious injury. Lets make her home shine again. Bless the neighborhood surrounding our Scott's Addition campus with trash and brush clean up and beautifying! We need 8-9 crew leaders to lead teams of 10-12 people. We provide all tools & equipment. If you have a favorite pair of work gloves, bring those. This is a BIG project with lots of opportunity to get to know other Chapel members and work alongside non-Chapel community members. This Serve Day team will help trim bushes and beautify the Elijah House Academy Campus. Elijah House will provide a light lunch around 12:15 for anyone serving on this project. Elijah House Academy is a Christ-centered school (TK-8th grade) that provides accessible Christian education to Richmond's children, so we're always in need of help with jobs like this, which would take our lone custodian countless hours/weeks to accomplish on her own.
