Following the loss of her husband in May 2025, a local widow has been working full-time while also trying to maintain their 9-acre farm on her own. Her husband handled much of the daily farm maintenance, and keeping up with the property has become overwhelming. The farm holds special meaning for the family. Years ago, she and her husband purchased the property in memory of their daughter, Heather, who passed away at the age of 20. They named the property "Heather's Landing," and it remains a place filled with family memories and significance. This Serve Day project will help complete several much-needed tasks, including: • Renovating and securing three chicken pens • Horse barn needs wall and two interior framing boards re done. • Spraying herbicide along horse pasture fencing to control vegetation • Mowing, weed eating, and general property cleanup • Assisting with general farm maintenance and upkeep as time allows Our goal is to help relieve some of the burden of maintaining the farm, preserve a place that holds deep meaning for the family, and show Christ's love through practical service during a difficult season of life. Serve Day Rally: Plan to attend the Serve Day rally, where we'll gather for a short time of inspiration, information, prayer, and worship! The Rally will be held before heading out to our projects, and project leaders will give important instructions immediately following.
