🌟 Día de Servicio Familiar 🌟 Te invitamos a participar en una hermosa actividad familiar donde grandes y pequeños podrán compartir amor, esperanza y alegría con niños que están luchando contra el cáncer. Puedes traer a tus hijos para que juntos preparemos tarjetas especiales llenas de mensajes de ánimo, dibujos, stickers, colores y escarcha. A través de cada detalle queremos recordarles a estos niños que no están solos, que Dios camina con ellos en cada paso de su batalla y que existen personas que, aunque no los conocen personalmente, piensan en ellos, oran por ellos y desean bendecir sus vidas. Estas tarjetas serán entregadas a través de la Fundación ASK, una organización que brinda apoyo y acompañamiento a niños con cáncer y a sus familias. Para esta actividad estaremos preparando cartas para niños y familias hispanas. Nos sentimos agradecidos de poder unirnos a su labor y ser instrumentos para llevar esperanza y amor a quienes más lo necesitan. Será una oportunidad para servir en familia, enseñar a nuestros hijos el valor de la compasión y llevar un mensaje de amor que puede iluminar el día de alguien que lo necesita. This Serve Day team will create thank you cards, assemble gift bags, and deliver them to show appreciation for various first responder teams in our community. As an extra token of thanks, we will also collect gift cards to include in the bags. Please bring gift cards on Serve Day if you'd like to contribute. Two Projects-in-One! All care kits will be donated to a local nonprofit called Communities in Schools. Their mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS currently serves students in 16 high-needs schools across Chesterfield County. The first project will involve assembling hygiene kits for students who may not consistently have access to everyday essentials at home. These kits will include items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant and soap. These are simple necessities that can make a significant difference in a child’s confidence and well-being. The second project will focus on creating grief relief kits for students who have recently experienced the loss of a parent or sibling, or who may experience loss during the upcoming school year. These kits are designed to offer comfort, encouragement, and tangible reminders that they are seen, supported, and cared for during difficult seasons. Care Kits for Kids aim to meet both practical and emotional needs and remind students that their community is walking alongside them with compassion and care. Following the loss of her husband in May 2025, a local widow has been working full-time while also trying to maintain their 9-acre farm on her own. Her husband handled much of the daily farm maintenance, and keeping up with the property has become overwhelming. The farm holds special meaning for the family. Years ago, she and her husband purchased the property in memory of their daughter, Heather, who passed away at the age of 20. They named the property "Heather's Landing," and it remains a place filled with family memories and significance. This Serve Day project will help complete several much-needed tasks, including: • Renovating and securing three chicken pens • Horse barn needs wall and two interior framing boards re done. • Spraying herbicide along horse pasture fencing to control vegetation • Mowing, weed eating, and general property cleanup • Assisting with general farm maintenance and upkeep as time allows Our goal is to help relieve some of the burden of maintaining the farm, preserve a place that holds deep meaning for the family, and show Christ's love through practical service during a difficult season of life. Together, we'll walk over to Clover Hill High School and help clean up the campus, showing love and serving our neighbors in a practical way. Deep Cleaning involves furniture upholstery and carpet cleaning, moving of furniture to clean deeper, base boards, light switches, windows and more. Depending on time and number of volunteers there may be other tasks to help with. We will finish with our time of prayer over the Pregnancy Help Center of Chesterfield.
